Baddi, known as Himachal Pradesh’s leading industrial hub, is now moving ahead as a centre of excellence in technical education and practical industrial training. The MSME Technology Centre here is offering students a unique platform where classroom learning is seamlessly integrated with advanced industrial exposure. With crores of rupees invested in state-of-the-art machinery suited to sectors like automobile engineering, the centre ensures that students receive hands-on training that closely reflects real industry operations.
The institute provides modern courses in mechanical engineering, tool and die, and various short-term technical programs, all affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Board, ensuring students receive fully recognized diplomas and degrees. Facilities such as hostels and a canteen make it convenient for students coming from different states. According to DGM Sukhman Singh, the centre’s primary objective is to develop a skilled workforce that matches the evolving demands of industries. With advanced labs and modern equipment, students gain practical knowledge that enhances their employability. The centre offers 60 seats open to students from across India, making it an inclusive platform for technical learning.
As part of a nationwide initiative, the Government of India has established MSME Technology Centres in 18 states to train youth in modern industrial technologies and promote self-reliance. The Baddi centre is playing a key role in this mission by preparing students to become industry-ready professionals. Singh added that trained graduates can secure jobs immediately and, within a few years, earn monthly salaries ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹80,000. This initiative is expected to boost employment prospects and encourage youth toward entrepreneurship, strengthening the region’s industrial ecosystem.
