Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today flagged off the “Children of the State Tour” under the Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana, an educational and exposure programme aimed at the holistic development of children living in Child Care Institutions. Interacting with the children, he encouraged them to learn, explore and enjoy the journey, saying such experiences help broaden perspectives and build confidence. A total of 52 children from across the state are participating in the tour, which will continue till 15 January 2026 and will cover Chandigarh, Delhi, Agra and Goa, with visits to major historical, cultural, scientific and educational institutions. The Chief Minister said the initiative reflects the State Government’s commitment to nurturing vulnerable children by providing them not only care and protection but also opportunities for national integration, cultural awareness and overall personality development, while directing officers to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the tour.
