Additional Secretary of MSME Ministry Dr. Rajneesh (IAS) Visits MSME Technology Centre, Baddi

Baddi, October 31 — Dr. Rajneesh (IAS), Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, conducted an official visit to the MSME Technology Centre in Baddi during his one-day tour of Himachal Pradesh.

During the visit, Dr. Rajneesh reviewed the ongoing training programs, inspected various facilities, and interacted with students undergoing skill development courses at the centre. He also assessed the quality of technical education and training being provided to local youth and entrepreneurs.

“The ministry’s objective is to develop a workforce equipped with modern industrial skills so that our youth can play a key role in building an Atmanirbhar Bharat,” said Dr. Rajneesh.

He further emphasized the need to upgrade the centre with state-of-the-art facilities to benefit both entrepreneurs and trainees. According to him, MSME Technology Centres serve as crucial bridges between industries and skill development institutions, fostering innovation and generating employment at the local level.

Dr. Rajneesh noted that the MSME sector currently contributes around 30 percent to India’s GDP, and the government is taking several new initiatives to enhance this share in the coming years. He praised the Baddi Centre for its contribution to the region’s industrial ecosystem, stating that it is providing valuable support to local enterprises through training, technical resources, and advanced machinery access.

“Baddi’s MSME Technology Centre is playing a vital role in preparing skilled manpower and supporting industries with modern tools and technologies. Soon, more machines and training modules will be introduced to further strengthen its capabilities,” he added.

During the visit, Dr. Rajneesh held a detailed meeting with the management team of the centre, discussing challenges, future plans, and the scope for expansion. He urged the officials to continue working towards creating an integrated environment where production, innovation, and training can be facilitated under one roof.

Accompanying him were A.K. Gautam, Assistant Director and Head of MSME Solan Office, and Prof. Sukhman, DGM of MSME Technology Centre Baddi, along with other senior officials and staff members.
